Booking Terms and Conditions
1. Booking and Payment
1.1 All course bookings are subject to availability.
1.2 A booking is confirmed only when payment has been received in full or when an approved purchase order has been accepted by SafeSkills Scotland.
1.3 Course fees must be paid 5 days before the course commencement date unless otherwise agreed in writing.
1.4 SafeSkills Scotland reserves the right to refuse or cancel any booking where payment has not been received.
2. Course Attendance
2.1 Learners must attend the full duration of the course to be eligible for assessment and certification.
2.2 Learners should arrive promptly at the stated start time. Late arrival may result in exclusion from the course if essential learning outcomes have been missed.
2.3 No refund or certification will be provided for learners who fail to attend all required sessions.
3. Learner Responsibilities
3.1 Learners are expected to behave professionally and respectfully towards trainers and fellow participants.
3.2 Learners must comply with all health and safety instructions issued during the course.
3.3 SafeSkills Scotland reserves the right to remove any learner whose behaviour is disruptive, abusive, unsafe, or inappropriate. In such cases, no refund will be issued.
4. Fitness to Participate
4.1 The course contains practical elements, including CPR and casualty management techniques.
4.2 Learners should inform SafeSkills Scotland before the course if they have any medical condition, injury, disability, or learning requirement that may affect participation.
4.3 Reasonable adjustments will be considered where possible; however, learners must still meet the assessment requirements set by REHIS.
5. Cancellation by the Learner
5.1 All cancellations must be made in writing via email.
5.2 Cancellation charges are as follows:
More than 14 days before the course date – Full refund less a £15 administration fee.
8 to 14 days before the course date – 50% refund of the course fee.
7 days or less before the course date – No refund.
Non-attendance without prior notice – No refund.
6. Transfers to Another Course Date
6.1 Requests to transfer to an alternative course date must be made in writing.
6.2 Transfers requested more than 14 days before the course date will normally be accommodated without charge, subject to availability.
6.3 Transfers requested within 14 days of the course date may incur an administration fee of £25 per learner.
6.4 Only one transfer per booking will normally be permitted.
7. Cancellation or Rescheduling by SafeSkills Scotland
7.1 SafeSkills Scotland reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a course due to circumstances beyond our control, including trainer illness, insufficient learner numbers, severe weather conditions, venue issues, or other unforeseen circumstances.
7.2 Where a course is cancelled by SafeSkills Scotland, learners will be offered either:
A place on an alternative course date; or
A full refund of fees paid.
7.3 SafeSkills Scotland shall not be liable for travel expenses, accommodation costs, loss of earnings, or any other consequential losses arising from course cancellation or rescheduling.
8. Assessment and Certification
8.1 Learners must successfully complete all course assessments and practical activities as required by REHIS.
8.2 REHIS certification will only be issued to learners who:
Attend the full course; and
Successfully meet the required assessment standards.
8.3 Replacement certificates may be subject to an administration charge.
9. Data Protection
9.1 Personal information provided during the booking process will be used solely for course administration, certification, and communication purposes.
9.2 SafeSkills Scotland will process personal data in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation.
10. Liability
10.1 SafeSkills Scotland accepts no responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings brought to the training venue.
10.2 SafeSkills Scotland's liability shall be limited to the value of the course fee paid.
11. Consumer Rights
11.1 Individual consumers booking online or by telephone may have cancellation rights under applicable consumer protection legislation.
11.2 Where a learner requests that training commences within the statutory cancellation period, they acknowledge that cancellation rights may be affected once the course has started.
12. Governing Law
12.1 These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Scotland.
12.2 Any disputes arising from these Terms and Conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish Courts.
13. Acceptance of Terms
13.1 By booking a place on a REHIS Emergency First Aid Training Course with SafeSkills Scotland, the learner confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Conditions.
